Difficulty of Prokofiev Sonata No. 6 Movement 1 vs 4
on: April 16, 2018, 12:13:59 AM
I am looking to play one movement, preferably 1 or 4, from this sonata, but I need to see which one is more manageable. To give you guys a clue of where I am technically/musically speaking, my current repertoire includes: Beethoven Sonata no. 16, op. 81a movements 1 and 3, Chopin Etude op. 25 no.10, Debussy Prelude "What the West Wind Saw", Barber Nocturne, Chopin Ballade no. 2, Chopin Nocturne op. 48 no. 1, Grieg Piano Concerto

work on them both at the same time for 6 weeks, then which ever is further along and coming together better , keep.it and save the other for later. unless you like the other one more, I'd rather cut my teeth on a harder work i love than a less challenging one i don't like as much

I like the two movements the same... its just that I don't have time to learn both of them right now. I can only choose one.
