Black keys different height?
on: April 19, 2018, 08:47:19 AM
Does anyone have experience playing any brand of grand piano and noticing a different overall height of the black keys? We have a Grotrian-Steinweg of the 1950's (which we'll be selling) that has black keys with a lower height, which I don't like. As I was checking ads on the internet for "Steinway grands for sale," I'm wondering if some of the different eras of building grand pianos had a lower height pf black keys?
Thanks for any observations about black key height.

In my experience there is more variability on black key dimensions, as opposed to the white key dimensions. You should also consider black key width, some prefer working with wider or thinner black keys as they are better suited to the individuals hands.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
