on: May 12, 2018, 09:49:50 PM
Hello Piano World!

Putting a composition into Sibelius, and got a little confused... under the lowest staff, I have 8ve, and pedal markings. Which is comes lowest? 8ve or pedal markings? Couldn't find any reference in revelent literature.

Thanks for your help!:)

I'm not sure exactly but I would guess the pedal mark should be at the bottom.

what's more important? play the correct note or pedal? octave I would believe comes first since that indicates what one actually plays there, the pedal deals w quality of sound once correct note is played how how to play said note

8ve is always on top of the measure it applies to, and the pedal marking's always at the bottom.

Thanks all. I've realised on my post that I put 8ve I meant 8vb. Below bass clef. Does this change things?

many thanks
