Bach Sarabande from French Suite No. 5
on: June 18, 2018, 03:39:32 PM
I really enjoyed playing this beautiful slow dance and even worked on my own ornamentation. Please listen and let me know what you think!

ever a fan of your playing here, really lovely job and control of texture and tasteful pedaling

your progress and development is inspiring thanks for posting  and please continue to do so

I also saw that  accompanying video ,  I did a bit of  that for some middle school choirs a few years ago and it was fun , happy to see you developing that skill set

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Beautiful ornamentation, very imaginative yet suitably simple and natural.

I think your playing here is terrific! I guess some people would critize that you used the pedal, but I don't think you have to play Bach without any pedal so that's not a problem for me. Great job!

Thanks, everyone! I'm glad to hear so many of you approve of the ornamentation (and aren't bothered by the use of the pedal). To "visitor," I have been doing a lot more accompanying this year, most notably a whole cello studio with 17 kids earlier this month! I really love playing with others, so it's great to have a chance to do this in addition to all of the solo work. I'm headed to a music camp in Vermont next week where I am going to play Dvorak's Dumky Trio (can't wait!) and the first movement of Beethoven's Piano Quartet, Op. 16a.

Very well done! You have a wonderful cantabile-style of playing Bach. Ornamentation was clean, and the pedal did not blur any of the phrasing. Excellent!
