Audition repertoire (last time)
on: July 23, 2018, 03:57:35 PM
OKAY SO...

Im gonna do a DMA or artist diploma idk yet and this is gonna be my repertoire

Beethoven op 90

Scriabin sonata 3

Heart of Kalimba from Souls of Alkubelan by James Lee III

Gaspard again

Yeah no Bach this time but I think this is a pretty heavy duty program.  And for super grad auditions I guess they just assume you know your stuff so they let you play whatever you want as long as it's an hour.  It's a shame I couldn't do Rach 3 cause I had to sacrifice everything to get it.  I don't know why piano is the only instrument that doesn't take concertos it's weird.

I wanna stay in Chicago cause I landed a decent teaching job and I'm eating well and my family is here but there's only one school with a DMA program and it's pretty much impossible to get in  so I might just have to settle with with artist diploma.  Or I might find a school and defer for a year idk

No Bach but shouldn't you do at least some Baroque? Could you not add a flashy little Scarlatti Sonata?

I thought about it but Ima take my chances with the contemporary piece instead.

I'm probably gonna apply for my undergrad school again and one of my old teachers there has the only known recording of the contemporary piece I'm playing so I think that'll be a soft spot haha
