1000 Jazz Standards Analyzed
on: November 10, 2018, 02:04:05 PM
If you are into Jazz and music theory here's a new book you might want to check out:

The Jazz Standards Progressions Book

It has 1000+ Jazz Standards fully analyzed, including harmonic analysis, chords-scales for every chord in the progression and arrows & brackets analysis.

Every analysis was hand-made by well-versed jazz musicians. Harmonic functions, chord-scales, pivot chord modulations were greatly discussed to create the best possible harmonic interpretation of the jazz standard.

Here is a comparison of the first few bars of "April in Paris" in mdecks version, and in the free PDF '557 Jazz Standards' version. See attachment.

It seems that both versions offer different information, so perhaps each is useful for different purposes.

(If the image does not appear here, don't blame me. I have asked for help on posting images and have been completely ignored by everyone, including the moderators.)

According to the picture - it seems MDecks is far inferior to the free version.

Plus the free one has the bloody melody as well. I will not be purchasing this.
