Schubert piano sonata in B flat
on: January 09, 2019, 11:00:18 AM
This Radio programme was on this morning, it’s a great programme about how pieces of music have shaped peoples’ lives. Today was Schubert piano sonata in B flat, I have always loved this and found it so heartbreaking and poignant, it’s as if the piece is more than just music I always felt it tells a story.  Hearing the pianist who had to give up playing through illness was especially moving as was the lady talking about her husband, but wonderful to hear their thoughts on this beautiful work. I especially like when the professional pianists talk about the challenges in tackling the piece. Worth a listen and I hope those outside the Uk can access this.  ;D

Lovely, thanks for the tip!
The Bb sonata is well worth attempting, it's not unreasonably difficult in general, compared to some.
