If these are pieces you've recorded you're on a journey and have the capacity to be very good.

But one of the biggest mistakes with Chopin is to be clockwork. Chopin is about feeling, not clockwork mechanism. Likewise the piano is not a percussion instrument. In the Op31 I'm hearing some good nuances coming through but there are passages where phrasing is very important such as the little phrases at 2:49. These are being played with equal emphasis on each note rather than shaping the phrase.

In Op 27, the left hand is too mechanical, too clockwork, and the right hand tune too. Each note or chord is a word within a sentence and each word has a different sound. Some within the sentence are more important than others, so shaping the phrase is really the key.

A tip from an Italian pianist I know - the sound of the piano decays so in order to phrase you have to cause one note not to interrupt the sound of the previous note.

If you can try to pick up on this in this recording

then you'll find magic in your playing.

I'm using Pianoteq software by the way to listen to your files. www.pianoteq.com

If you choose an unequal temperament such as Well Temperament or Kirnberger III to play with, it will give you clues as to performance. If it sounds on edge, play delicately. If it sound warm and beautiful, bask in the sunshine. If it sings let it sing.

This is about music, about communication, not mere mechanical repetition.

Best wishes
