How do you count the 6/4 part in the Ballade 1?. Do you count them as two beats where each beat groups three quarters or do you count it as one measure of 4/4 and add a measure of 2/4?. Thanks a lot!

It is simply 1 2 3 4 5 6.  like counting to 4 but you count to 6 instead. No groupings or added measures.  Unless marked by the composer

A time signature of 6/4 is compound duple time, which means you are correct when you ask if there are two beats to the bar.  6/4 is similar to 6/8 - both are compound duple time but in 6/4 you are counting crotchets instead of quavers.
