There's a beautiful piece of music that plays whenever something sad happened in the past.

Starts with a piano solo, later the theme is played by a flute or recorder.

Does anyone know the name of this piece? Is there a full piano cover out there?

It's very beautiful and melancholy like a nocturne.

I played ACBAA, seeing if it would ring a bell but it doesn't. However! There is at least one website where you can enter some notes and look up tunes, I tried once, years ago, with an old film theme I had remembered from childhood and I actually found it. Google it! And always remember....
