I am in a situation where it doesn’t make sense to rent or own traditional housing or rent. I much prefer the nomadic lifestyle living in a RV full time could provide.

I am planning how I could have a baby grand piano in the RV. My plan is to “boondock”, living in various national parks and also in major cities, parking on the street or at big parking lots. My concerns are:

-Someone steals the RV entirely, taking the piano. There are certain things I can do to mitigate this risk.
-someone breaks the door with a crew of thieves and takes the piano out the door. Seems more of risk to me if I leave the RV at a national park unattended.
-humidity fluctuations damaging the piano
-Temperature fluctuations damaging the piano
-piano rolling around in the RV (RV is 8 feet wide). Might be able to install some sort of system to secure it.
-noise if in an RV park
-a local piano company says that they will need to see a floor plan to see if it is even possible to move the piano into the RV. My plan is to remove the queen size bed and install the piano there instead.

Is this a bad idea? Thoughts on how I can make this work?

What an interesting idea:
- I would build a custom heavy box and put the piano inside.  Would not allow much extra room for the piano but rather a snug fit.  The box can be low-sided.
- temp not as much of problem as direct sunlight and humidity control .  Cover windows to keep direct sunlight out. Portable room size humidifier:
/ de-humidifier
- acoustic paneling for walls

Will it work? Haven’t tried but worth a shot.  I would not plan on practicing after 9-10 pm until you check the sound-proofing. This are all just random thoughts. Would not think piano theft would be an issue at all.... only a small group of us love them and it would be tough to throw under your arm or in a pillowcase

Wanted to ask if there was update - were you able to fit your baby grand piano in an RV? If so, is it able to sustain the weight? I'm of same situation in the near future, and I'm curious of the practicality of this being possible. I recently bought a petite piano for a very reasonable price, and I am looking to live in an RV in a permanent destination area. I am worried the floor of the RV (in particular, 2025 Aspen Trail 3200wap that is about 8,300 pounds) will not be able to sustain the weight (would plan to tear out the bedroom and have that be my piano/office/wardrobe space).
