VIDEO: Beethovens Piano Sonata Op. 13 "Pathetique"
on: October 30, 2019, 06:16:15 PM
Hi. I read the rules and I know acustic recordings are preferable. I don't have access to any acustic instruments. Being autistic and not able to have a job and living on welfare doesn't pay me well to afford a proper instrument, but I hope one day that I will get my hand on an acustic instrument.

I have never had a piano teacher.

I hope you enjoy this youtube video. I am also trying to get a Youtube channel going as its the only way for me to share my work on the piano.

Also I wonder if anyone know any other good sites to share youtube videos? I try everything and can only get 200 views for my best video in 1 month.

Hello.  Here are my thoughts listening only to the first 5 minutes one time.

1) You are very talented and doing unbelievable well.

2) Your instrument sounds great to my ear, maybe a little too much acoustics.  But there is NO SUBSTITUTE for a real piano.  You will have to adjust to the touch of a real grand piano action and this may take a lot of work.

3) Much of what I hear sounds like a professional pianist playing.  The intro sounded fantastic (maybe some sustain pedal issues?).  The first few moments of the allegro, etc.

4) But there are spots that IMMEDIATELY give you away as not being a professional pianist quality – example – runs at 3:17 to 3:24 and same spot in repeated section 5:05 and 5:11.

You show great promise and I wish you the best of luck!!   I’m hoping others can help you with you other questions.  I know nothing about youtube.

This is very good. It is quite an impressive achievement considering you have never had a piano teacher.  The effort you have put into paying attention to score details and articulation is evident (there are many piano students, studying with teachers nonetheless, that take a while to realize that such details are important).

I think one of the next steps for you with this piece is to work on forte chord technique: transferring energy from your torso to your fingertips.

Hope you do get access to an acoustic piano as well as a teacher.  You are certainly talented and these things will allow you to go even farther.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
