Scriabin: Sonata no 5

Dear all,

I'm a full time piano teacher, and don't want to lose my playing. Since I can't (or want to) go through the stress of teaching 7 days per week, plus organizing concerts, I decided to record instead. So every week, I'm recording a piece. Usually it's something I've learned in a week, but this time I wanted a bit more.

The 5th sonata by Scriabin was something I tried to play couple of years ago, without too much success.

I restarted it some time ago, and now think I can sort of manage it.

I lost focus around 7.30-8, but am otherwise rather pleased with the results. 

I hope you enjoy my recording of this ridiculously difficult piece.

Well done!  You have captured a very good sense of flow of the piece, and your ideas were clear.  It is easier said than done considering the challenges Scriabin presents to the pianist in this music.

I learned this piece a while back and can relate to its challenges, and very much appreciate the effort you have put in here.

Have you played any of the other sonatas?

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Thank you both for the kind words  :)

It's one of those pieces that are difficult all the time, so I appreciate the positive comments.

I did also play the 9th and a couple of preludes, but not really much. It takes so long to learn that I just don't have the time right now, unfortunately..
