Rachmaninov Concerto 3 recordings
on: May 15, 2020, 05:53:06 PM
Hello everyone.

I know there's already hundreds of topics about this concerto on internet but I still wanted to have advices. I'd like to find recordings that mixes a fine performance as well as a great recording quality, natural, without artificial editing.

I'm very satisfied with the Volodos/Levine interpretation which is one of the best modern recording of this piece by far.

There's also : Shelley/Thomson (Chandos)
                        Lugansky/Oramo (Warner Classics)
                        Andsnes/Papanno (Warner Classics)
                        Gavrilov/Muti (Warner Classics)

I'm a bit upset because even though I've heard many good recordings. I'm always oscillating between several interpretations and can't find my absolute favorite recording that would make me forget all the others.

Do you know some Lesser known recordings of this piece that are really good.

Thank you :)
