Ravel Pavane pour une infante défunte
on: May 30, 2020, 01:38:16 AM
With a bit more time on my hands during lockdown, I recorded this recently on my Sauter. The piano unfortunately is slightly out of tune and the piano was sounding 'flabbier' than I would have liked, as it was a rainy day.
Nonetheless I hope you will give it a listen, despite some small slips

Hi Wzkit,

Nice job with the melody and tone control! I would play even louder during the fortissimo parts since most of the piece is very quiet, but that could just be the rain :) Thanks for posting, I enjoyed listening to it!
I hate music (and sarcasm) :)

Beethoven Sonata 18
Liszt Rhapsodie Espagnole
Prokofiev Sonata 4 op.29
Scriabin Piano Concerto

Thanks pianoannieq for your kind words. Tone control and voicing were two aspects I paid close attention to, and this piece is actually more awkward to play than it sounds. I do agree that the fortissimo bits should be louder, although I'm not sure it is partly due to the recording set up and mic placements.

*Bob is present, is reminded of the impact music can have even though things are long in the past.*
