100 Most Difficult Piano Pieces (up to 1920)
on: September 10, 2020, 04:25:33 PM
I know that this is a topic beaten to death but here is my definitive take on it. There are far too many "top hardest pieces" videos and lists on the Internet that do no justice and spread misinformation. My own list is at best approximate but does its best to entertain and educate.

Note that the purpose of this kind of content is not to glorify virtuosity, but rather to simply take a look at how the various dozens of composers apply virtuoso technique into creating music. Hopefully it can generate some interesting discussion over the use of technique.

Actually rather educational, some things in there that I wasn't aware of.... Fun to watch as I visualise and practice some passages away from the piano. Thanks 👌🏻
Beethoven-Alkan, concerto 3
Faure barcarolle 10
Mozart-Stradal, symphony 40
