Bach Sinf_8_BWV_794 sightreading
on: September 11, 2020, 04:59:08 PM
Greetings,

Since July, I have been practicing this piece.  I am working so hard so I can reach a level where I can play pieces of the WTC and French Suites. From this week on, I am going to work in playing it by heart and without the metronome.

Try to develop in internal sense of flexible pulse, rather than following a metronome.  You can use the metronome to set the initial tempo, but turn it off while you play.

You can use your wrists more in the ornaments. A lot of playing is happening in your fingers, try to free up your playing apparatus and involve more of your wrists and arms.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Hi quantum,

Thanks for your advice. I have downloaded another video. This time I played it by heart and without a metronome. I hope it has more flow.

Also I have in consideration your point abour moving wrists and arms, but it is very difficult for me right now, and I know I need it if I want to play faster and be free from tension.
