Sydney Smith - salon music
on: November 12, 2020, 10:16:29 AM
Sydney Smith (1839-1889) was an English pianist and composer of light salon music. Very popular in England in his time, he is now largely forgotten. He also wrote music under the pseudonyms of Victor Delacour and Paul Beaumont.

Thanks: I think John Kersey has recorded a fair bit of his considerable output. I'm not very convinced by the Smith paraphrases but it certainly doesn't hurt to give an outing to a charming vignette like this.
