An album of dark improvisations
on: December 20, 2020, 12:34:31 AM
A collection of dark improvisations for dark times.
Mostly stuff I've posted in the last few months, basically a compilation of my personal favourites arranged into an order I like.
0:05 1. Winter
11:05 2. Funérailles d'un sorcier
17:44 3. Train des lutins
21:49 4. Snow cemetery
27:33 5. Halloween
39:19 6. Remorse and melancholy
52:56 7. Sonata - Idyll
56:57 8. Sonata - Funérailles
1:01:40 9. Sonata - Intermezzo
1:02:58 10.1 Sonata - Orage
1:07:47 10.2 Sonata - Spectres
1:08:23 10.3 Sonata - Marche ŕ l'enfer
1:11:20 11. Dies Irae
Track descriptions -
1. Winter : a desolate winter graveyard with a passing snowstorm.
2. Funérailles d'un sorcier : a collection of elves, goblins and demons congregate to commemorate a great wizard.
3. Train des lutins : pixies and elves steal a steam train and collect a witch en route.
4. Snow cemetery : a cemetery in the snow, with a blizzard and skulls.
5. Halloween : a spooky improvisation with graveyards, a funeral procession, storms, skulls, zombies, demons, the Devil, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as the world self-immolates.
6. Remorse and melancholy : a contemplation of regret and angst set to the backdrop of a Caspar David Friedrich painting.
7, 8, 9, 10. Sonata in four movements : passing from a country idyll through the gloom and mist of a funeral procession to a a violent storm, ghost ships and spectres, concluding with various spooky warrior creatures marching to Hell and ultimately the Apocalypse.
11. Dies Irae - Epilogue : eternal oblivion and the Apocalypse.
Enjoy (or otherwise!)

Very good! I'm always astonished that people can improvise these sorts of things

Thanks, improvisation has kept me occupied for a while of late. I'd dearly like to have done this project under better circumstances but some of the material I'm pretty proud of.
