Need help with Chopin

When theres a x Im under the impression that you go up a note, but do you go up again if the note should be a sharp?

Is this right?

coz it sounds wrong.

x means a double sharp. You sharp the note and then you sharp it again. Ignore the key signature.

So in the left hand you have:

C double sharp = D natural
G double sharp = A natural

On the right hand you have:

F double sharp = G natural
