What level am I ....
on: February 03, 2005, 07:39:37 PM
This may be a stupid question but when people ask me what level I'm playing, I'm not sure how to reply.......
The pieces i'm playing at this time are:

1. K.P.E. Bach "Solfeggietto in C minor.
2. K.P.E. Bach "Allegro in F minor
3. Bach Two Part Inventions # 8
4. Smuel Barber Excursions # 1
5. Debussy Preludes "La Fille aux cheveux de lin"
6. Chopin Nocturn in "Eb Major Op 9 No 2"
7. Chopin Nocturn in "F# minor Op 48 No 2"

Best wishes,

depends how well your playing them they have appeared on ABRSM lists (if indeed thats helpfull) at levels grade 6 and 7 in recent years. But really your level is more the quality at which you play rather than the pieces. I mean I sightead Gaspard de la nuit and Brahms op5 sonata but I wouldn't presume to say I am at the level where i could give definative performances of them just yet - theres always a growing into and a growing out of phase when it comes to repertoire less so as you go up (everythings hard then!) ;) ;D Keep banging them keys and enjoy ! Don't get too hung up on levels - if you want yto be hung up on anything be hung up on improving!!!! ;D ;D
