I am an advanced pianist looking for some pieces to play that aren't too long, however, most advanced pieces out there seem to be way too long for my liking ie around 10 mins and longer. I am looking for something Chopin or Liszt. But Scriabin is a gem to me - his music is very complex though and not necessarily the best for performance - if someone knows a good, relatively short Scriabin piano piece that's showy enough, that would be great. Everything he writes seems to be too short, too long, or too "deep".

Have you looked at etudes by Chopin/Liszt/Scriabin? Most of them fall under your requirements.

Well, the first thing that sprung to my mind when you said "Liszt" and "shorter than 5 minutes" and "showy" was Liebestraum :p

As for Scriabin, the Etude Op 8 no 12 is a great audience pleaser if performed well. Also possiby the Etude in c sharp op 42 no 5.

Or did you have something more in his "late" style in mind?

Some pieces I could recommend that I think fit your criteria in terms of time and are a bit showy. I don't think any of these pieces are easy, but some of them aren't too hard either (not 100% sure how showy you are wanting, some are more standard). Not sure if these are what you are looking for. I'll exclude what has already been said. Sorry, the list is a bit long (got carried away).

Also several pieces by Rachmaninoff would fit the bill. In that regard, I would have to suggest the wonderful Op.39 No.5 etude. Others would also be quite showy and fit your length criteria.
