Random question: Dice or Cards?

Yeah I have a day job that includes a bit of waiting around.

Was sure I had some dice at home, but couldn't find.

Setlled for 2 for 1 price of Bicycle playing cards.  Yes, I'm an excellent Gin Rummy player, but it's not just waiting around.  Strategy, and skill:  it's a good game, but hard to play a short game:  I burn them down 300 points ahead or nothing.

Didn't have any dice:  just, you know regular street craps.

Damn.  I'll have to stop by a convenience store tomorrow.

Cards is too cumbersome, but dice is easy and fast.

Well, I'm obliged to you for the answer.

Chess "app"?  Nah.  There can be only one!  I'll play rapids with anybody IRL, even without a board, just Ray Charles fashion by calling out moves.

And I'm too inept to try Rubik's cube again.

You see, this is a matter for settling bets IRL or just passing the time with a minimum of apparatus (yes, the word "apparatus" is both plural and singular in classical Latin).

Nobody wants to arm-wrestle me to settle bets at work, so I must devise simpler strategies.

I'd go cards. Dice games are pretty boring IMO and you can play all kinds of stuff with cards. Gin rummy is one of my favorites too.
