I skimmed through every single post in the Teaching forum here (yes, every one of them!), and noted down the ones I thought were useful or interesting. I haven't applied every single bit of advice here, of course! But I thought it would be helpful to cut through the clutter and find the useful bits, which often do not even show up on a search.

Here's the full list:

Yeah, I'll give you full points for that!

There are so many valuable posts, or essays, really, from back in the before-times, that you've done a good service.

I wonder about your prioritization of tasks, but, hey, you did good, kid!

Yeah, I think you might be a nut, but meant in the best of ways!   ;D

I know it would be a lot of work, even beyond that which you've already done, but I think the thread would get more traction if you gave some indication of what each of the links is about. Even if you just grouped them into headings like "Teaching one'self" "Polyrhythms," "Pedaling" etc.

I have considered it haha. I think he has already done it on his blog though, right?

I don't know if Nils would give me permission to crawl the website. I think you could write a script for it. I wonder if j_tour could do it.

I started at the bottom of the list and found Bernhard whom I've read so much about here. I feel like I maybe descending into a rabbit hole, hopefully an advantageous one...

After reading several of Bernhard's posts, he reminds me of Harvey Pennick. A very wise golf instructor. Gems in their fields.

Bernhard is quite the character. I don't feel I agree with everything they say (I made the mistake of taking everything they said as absolute truth when I was younger and that caused some problems) but there is some food for thought in their posts for sure.

In particular, I find Bernhard's advice on how to learn a piece to be more suited towards beginners. At a higher level, you tend to create a "map" of a piece and gradually fill it in, rather than going measure by measure.

What happens when the forum gets an upgrade and the URLs change?  It's been a long, long time, but it's happened in the past.

Now tell us what you thought was useful about each post lol :)

So, which thread should I read and in which order, for a beginning pianist, and could you please tell me which are the most likely to yield me much biggest success in making best career as concert pianist?

And also, do you recommend which app for learning music and especially keyboards in piano, that is for my phone as well?

;D
