Learning online
on: June 08, 2021, 01:51:53 PM
Hi!
With online learning, how far can you reach? I have heard that with online courses you can reach only till grade 3. I came to know this while using learning calculator on a website?
If you learn from a teacher who will teach online (not structured online courses), how far can you go?
Thanks

Good teaching is good teaching.  If you have a skilled teacher level should not matter.  What is different is that online teaching requires different workflows than in person teaching.  There is no physical touch, so for example the teacher can't physically guide the student into a correct hand position.  There is latency and things like bouncing off each other mid sentence and interjecting won't be useful.  However, if both student and teacher are disciplined in verbal communication, waiting for the other side to finish speaking, not blurting out random words at random times as can be done in person, and organizing thoughts before speaking, it can be a successful experience.

Online teaching also offers things in person lessons do not, like multi camera angles.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

That calculator (the Hoffman academy one) is BS. I was already at a level 8+ as per their calculator, and I was self taught. Impossible, my ass.
