Horowitz transcription Hungarian Rhapsody no 2.
on: February 08, 2005, 04:33:30 AM
Does anyone have this transcription played by anyone?

I would like to hear it, and would be willing to trade mp3's.

I have heard that it is a beast of a transcription and want to maybe even learn it if it is better technically as well as musically.

Volodos has at least one recording of it, so you could check that out.

Otherwise, spare me. Horowitz and Liszt are never a good combination.

Yes, like Liszt´s sonata, one of the best ever recorded...

That's horribly subjective.

lol @ mr hypocrite

horowitz's liszt is often superb IMO

i have a recording of this piece by volodos and horowitz himself

it really IS  a beast, and it adds a myriad of extra technical complexities, and turns it really into a whole new piece

also check out horowitz' HR19 , really amazing stuff

and about the HR2 - hamelin's cadenza is AWESOME for it, after hearing it so much, the piece feels incomplete when i hear it without it
