What gloriously colourful, ebullient music. After hearing this I listened to the orchestral version too and read about Moncayo, whose music I had not heard until now. Sad he died so young, in his prime and when overdue recognition was occurring. Thanks for posting this, it has stimulated me to investigate more Mexican music.

Thank you for listening! I'm Italian, I live in Mexico since 2005. I remember the very same impression when I listened to this music the first time. Moncayo was a great composer, and Mexico has other great classical composers like Ricardo Castro, Manuel María Ponce, Felipe Villanueva and many others. Cheers.
