for a new piece..which would you pick..and which is more difficult?
1. Muczynski Toccata
2. Ginastera Toccata
3. Ginaster Creole Dances

also are there other contemporary pieces in this level that you would recommend..kinda showy competition piece.

Actually, I'm not really sure off-hand, because I'm not really familiar with the Creole Dances. For a showy-type Ginastera piece, I would recommend either "Danza del viejo boyero" or "Danza del gaucho matrero" (especially this one, it's sick) from his Danzas Argentinas. Actually, you could play the whole thing, because it's not that long (I think it's about 8 minutes or so, all told). Lots of percussiveness, bitonality, and clusters. Ginastera is one bad pregnant cat.

Hip hop hooray,
Bri

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
