I have a question, if I want to minor in music (piano) what level of skill is required, and what other requirements are needed.

My understanding is that it is very easy for anyone to declare a music minor in most schools. However, depending upon your concentration of area, let's say, if you want to take a lesson from your school's music department, you might have to audition for it. The level of competition could vary easily, depending on your music department's budget, the number of people auditioning.....but in most cases you should be able to play advanced pieces...you know Chopin, Liszt....Hope this answers your question in some way.
