How Many Hours Should You Practice the Piano? – The Lines Between Science, Method and Passion

It is a timeless question, a persistent voice in the mind of every pianist: “How many hours must I practice to truly improve?” It springs from a perfectly legitimate desire to measure the commitment required to transform our ambitions into sound, whether that means playing a simple minuet or dreaming of the world’s most prestigious stages. Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No2 duet
on: February 12, 2005, 05:13:19 PM
My friend and i are planning to play the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No2 duet. We have quite a while to learn it. Does anyone have any suggestions on playing this piece. Also does anyone have any suggestions about playing piano duets in general?

have fun, it's more of a comical piece.

2 of my friends are playing it tomorrow (sunday) here at Wesleyan.

It should be fun.

Seriously, don't worry about the technique.

I know that this doesn't help, but just have fun with it.

This arrangement is for two pianos, correct?

Usually in duet playing the most important aspect is communication.  You should be very aware of what your partner is doing and the signals he is giving.  This will take a short while to learn and requires practice but soon enough, each of you will understand each others' non-verbal communications.

Another important aspect is listening to your partner and not just yourself.

Yes...
Victor Borge's

Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 For pianist with Assistant. It's plainly hillarious.
