Name(s) for piano software for MIDI -> audio
on: July 09, 2022, 09:08:10 AM
I'm interested in software for turning MIDI into audio, specifically for:
- trying different pedal simulations, e.g. sostenuto and harmonic pedal. My FP-30 in non-MIDI standalone setup can only use one sustain pedal I think
- just playing with a different piano sounds from what my digi-piano has, and maybe occasionally harpsichord
- occasionally recording the audio too
In particular I remember reading about some fancy software that was supposed to be especially realistic - not sure what techniques were used, I guess a combination of recording audio and simulation? "VST" seems to be a relevant term just scanning through the posts here but that doesn't find the software whose website I remember looking at some time ago, and I think maybe a different term than "VST" was used to describe it.
