Ghosted by two piano tuners
on: July 29, 2022, 06:28:09 PM
Since I purchased a grand piano in 2019, I’ve been ghosted by two piano tuners in the SF Bay Area.  They simply stopped answering my emails/texts/phone calls whenever I asked them to return for another tuning.
They are both certified piano tuners.

I wonder if this has happened to someone else.

Did they go out of business during the pandemic? Before the pandemic, there were at least 4 tuners within a 40 minute drive of my location. Now there are none, and the nearest is almost 2 hours away, so I have to wait for him to accumulate a bunch of jobs in my area to make it worth his while. But I  live in a very rural out of the way place; surely there must be piano tuners to be found in San Francisco, no?

No, they are very much in business and seeing other pianists based on Yelp reviews.
One of them lives 15min away
