Yunchan Lim interview
on: September 15, 2022, 11:15:16 PM
Hi, Everyone,

Had the pleasure of interviewing Yunchan Lim before his West coast debut this weekend. You can find the story (with remarks from Stephen Hough, Marin Alsop, and Minsoo Sohn) here:

https://www.mercurynews.com/2022/09/15/young-pianist-everyones-talking-about-performs-in-san-jose-this-weekend/

For piano students, I've released the full transcript of our exchange here: https://www.thecounterpoints.com

Looking forward to hearing Lim this weekend :)

Hello, vlhorowitz.

Thank you for sharing this, and the rest of the interviews found at the page.
I found his answer to be very often the truth:
"The composer is not at fault, the performer is always the problem."

I myself have re-discovered the beauty of many works which I could not connect to in the past, and I often see this with piano students.

All my best,
Dino

I wish all these piano competition champions got together regularly and simply dueled each other.
