So I'm relearning (or I should say, remastering) Bach's prelude and fugue V from Book 2. I have to bring it to class, but I want to take it to the next level. The thing is that I've already played it, so my muscle memory is kind of there. However, it feels awkward, I don't know how to explain it. Like I'm going to mess up. Is the solution to practice it slowly again with the metronome?

(Ideas off the top of my head)  Play it through with the score in front of you.  Mark any sections where you have difficulties.  Study those parts, find out why they're difficult.  Also study your score to refamiliarize yourself with it including its structure, the chords, phrases etc.

Practice slowly until you feel comfortable again. Pay special attention to more challenging parts, just like when you initially learned the piece. It's likely that the whole process will be much faster since you have already learned the piece once.

I'm a bit curious why you are even asking this question though. Shouldn't a bit of practice answer your own question? :)
