Film music for grade 6-7 level
on: November 11, 2022, 06:13:20 PM
Hi there, I'm looking for some input for fun film music around Grade 6 or 7 level. My student is a teenage boy and I really like some of the pieces from the Con Brio Leisure Play Grade 6 book but unfortunately I can't source the books. In particular, their arrangements of Mission Impossible and In Dreams from Lord of the Rings really caught my attention.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions and if possible, links to sheet music (digital or hard copy).

Many thanks.

The theme song for Titanic is absolutely beautiful and I think it's about level 6 to 7.

This piece is on page 176 of this book ISBN: 978-7-5404-4701-4
This book contains many beautiful works and theme songs.

Just thinking about that gives me PTSD. The amount of times people would ask me to play the song... [shivers]

Have you tried film themes from sourcing them on www.musicnotes.com ???

Great selection and they've got tons of music.

LOLZ, did they really keep asking you to play it?  wow.  You know, back in the day, when the movie first came out, people would brag about how many times they had seen the movie.

Yeah... it was all the rage. It was the equivalent of playing that idiotic Dr. Dre pieces that everyone keeps playing. It was incredibly tedious and annoying.

Thanks Pascalxus. I will check this book out.

Thanks Perfect Pitch. I have looked on Musicnotes but I was hoping for something that could be filtered along the lines of grade level/ability. I'll have another look though.

Haha, the Titanic flashbacks are real! Leo could've fit on that door!

Update: I actually found an appropriate version of Mission Impossible on Musicnotes. Thanks pitch perfect.
