I'm afraid I don't know what it means to "pivot the classical era." Could you elaborate?

I'm afraid I don't know either!  I'm supposed to know what this means but I'm not really sure. 😅

I imagine some statement is out there that Mozart did so, the OP read the statement, and now wants to know more.
Probably the idea is that Mozart had an influence on the direction of music and changed how music was done, or conceived, or something like that.

I’m not that familiar with the details but from what I understand Mozart had absorbed a whole lot of different styles from different regions, presumably as a result of travelling around Europe as a child prodigy, then merged them into his own music.
Not sure if that constitutes ‘pivoting the classical era’ but it’s conceivable that this had an influence on the composer’s that followed.

Lol, nope, I'm innocent ! 😳  😂😂 Only kidding, well, I mean, I'm doing my DipABRSM in piano in 5 days and... ahhh, long story short, I'm preparing for the Viva Voce and I was worried the examiner might ask me this question, so I was trying to research to find an appropriate answer !  I was kinda interested for personal knowledge too.

Well, you won't have time in five days, but if you are interested apart from the exam there's a very good, readable biography of Mozart by Jan Swafford you might like.
