193 Pieces by Liszt Added to Piano Street's Sheet Music Library
The latest addition to our already vast piano sheet music library almost doubles the number of pieces by Franz Liszt. Last week, we added 193 pieces by this multifaceted composer, taking a significant step towards our goal of publishing a complete library of the classical piano repertoire. Our Liszt section is now nearly complete, but more will follow - with this extremely productive and hard-working composer-pianist it's hard to know where to stop! Read more >>

Has anyone attended piano workshops?
on: February 17, 2023, 08:30:14 AM
Hi,

I recently found out about a summer piano workshop but was wondering if it's something worth checking out.  There is the cost to be considered, which I suppose is a big factor.  But according to the organizers, it will be a week long schedule of working with well established music teachers and pianists on learning professional technique.  It sounds like it could be an interesting experience but wanted to know if anyone has ever attending a piano workshop and if you felt it was worth it for your musical learning.

I have not attended workshops for technique, but several masterclasses and courses. If you are interested in having lessons with that teacher, want to socialise with other people who play piano, and have the money, it can be an enjoyable experience. It's always valuable to immerse yourself in different perspectives on music, even if you ultimately find you disagree with them IMO.

I have attended Summerkeys which is a music program for adults in Lubec, Maine for many years. It started as just piano which is what I do but now offers many other instruments.
I have enjoyed every time there and met people from all over. It is so nice to be around others with similar interest and have all the time to just focus on music. I have had incredibly good teachers there.
I went for the first time a year after returning to the piano after 40 years.
I actually wrote quite a bit about it after the first time. You can probably find it if you search Summerkeys reviews.
