Thoughts on New Age Piano?
on: April 17, 2003, 05:51:57 AM
Hey, this is my first post in this forum. I've been playing piano for some eight years now and I'm 17.

It seems like this forum is very centered on classical piano. While I love classical piano, I also enjoy New Age music and find it uplifting. I recently learned Winston's "Thanksgiving" and enjoy playing it.

Anyway, I was wondering what you guys think about New Age piano music? I'm talking about people like George Winston, Liz Story, David Lanz, etc...

Actually i have this question about him for a long time: What does he actually DO?? is he some sort of composer or pianist?

I play some New Age Music in addition to Classical. I play Yuhki Kuramoto a lot. New Age has pretty melodies, chords, and they're VERY easy to play. But I wonder if the music has anything to do with the religion New Age...

I notice that the music make me depressed despite all pretty melodies, and the chord progressions - no matter what happy song I hear, I fell into sad mood.
I love Chopin!

i listen to jim brickman's music...don't know if it falls in the catagory ''new age music'', but it's very relaxing music...i like the emotional melodies and chord progressions..
