Wagner’s Universe in a Pianist’s Hands

One of the most thrilling performances offered at Cremona Musica this year was the Wagner by Liszt recital given by Filippo Tenisci – Italian pianist, born 1998 and celebrated for his refined interpretations and expressive mastery of the Romantic repertoire. After his recital we got the chance talking to Tenici about his Wagner/Liszt project. Read more

Need help a good fingering
on: March 21, 2023, 06:46:16 PM
Hello, I have a question, I have 3 bars (6 chords) for which I would like to prepare a good fingering (LH) for a child (8 years). Anyone here will help in this?

What interval can the student comfortably span with the LH?

Starting at 2nd chord of bar 17, if possible have the student connect the bottom 5-3 or 5-4, and top 1-2, while not holding the full value of the remaining notes.

Alternate, connect the top note in both instances, 1-2 followed by 1-2.

Difficult to say for the first and last chords in this excerpt, as the paired chord is cut off.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

The first chord of 17 bar is not connected to 16 bar. What do you think about such of fingering (first 4 chords from 17): 521 421 531 421

I would only consider that fingering if the student has trouble spanning the hand in larger intervals.  This fingering makes it difficult to execute the articulation specified in the score.

Dependent the student's hand span, one of the first fingerings I would suggest would be the following,
Starting at the 2nd chord of bar 17:
532, 321, 321, 532

Alternate:
532, 421, 421, 532

The note duration, rests, slur marks, and articulation marks all suggest that the chord grouping pattern starts with the 2nd chord of bar 17 and moves to the 1st chord of bar 18.

Starting from 2nd chor in 17, can the student reach 542 421?

Otherwise maybe 531 421 for each slurred pair.
