Is it a bad idea to enter Tchaikovsky Competition this year?  I understand there are many political viewpoints, and I have one myself.  But, this is my last chance to enter this competition.  And, strangely, this was the only major competition I was accepted in the preliminary in the past.  There is not much chance at all, but if I happen to get any prize, does it contribute to my career in the West, or destroy my future?  Appreciate your thoughts.

Unless there's a coordinated boycott of the competition by pianists/musical institutions in countries that have imposed sanctions etc. then it's tricky for anyone to pass judgment on individual pianists who choose to participate. Are outsiders even able to enter Russia right now? And given the political nature of adjudication panels, would they award prizes to any pianist from a country that was imposing sanctions?

Bad idea if Kevin Chen enters because he will crush everybody.
