Quentin Kim - Four Preludes
on: April 18, 2023, 02:12:54 PM
these gorgeous and quite difficult preludes were composed in 2010. the first is, as the marking indicates, quiet languorous but also with the augmented harmonies a bit unsettled. the second is declamatory and dramatic, really a miniature high tragedy for piano. in th elyrical third prelude every note is precious. and finally the toccata-style Fantasmagorico in g# minor
really a satisfying set from this composer who has written several piano solo works including a four-movement sonata, ballad-fantasy, variations, suites, character pieces, etc.
hope uyou enjoy
