On Being a Pianist in Kenya - Against All Odds
It is hard enough to train as a classical pianist, even in a Western country with good access to instruments, sheet music and advanced tuition. I have a Steinway Model L built in 2000. It was recently restrung and some minor regulation was done by a builder.  I notice that the hammer line is up-and-down all the time between hammers in some sections, Although I know the hammer line might not be straight, it should be smoothly curved across hammers that are in the same section. Right?

So I wonder if anyone here knows the hammer blow specs for Steinway model L 2000 so that I can check some hammers for a test. Maybe nothing is wrong. Maybe something is off.

Thank you very much.

PS: all parts on the action are Steinway original.
