Pieces of moderate difficulty to learn in a week

Dear all,

In a few weeks time I have to play the piano for an important 80th birthday however, I can't start learning my music until about a week before. I'm not required to play an entire concert however, having a piece that's longer than a minute or two would be nice. I was thinking of pieces around the difficulty of Schumann's "Der Dichter Spricht", Chopin's prelude Op. 28 No. 4, or Scriabin's prelude Op. 16 No. 4, or maybe a bit more difficult. I want to make sure I can have the piece down within the one week. Normally I play pieces like Chopin's nocturnes or movements from Beethoven's Sonatas, maybe this will help you to get an idea of what I can do within a week. Does anyone have some more recommendations? It would really help me out!

I noticed I didn't mention it in this post, but would Scriabin's Op. 2 No. 1 etude be within reach...?

It sounds doable. It's harder than the ones you mentioned, but as long as you can handle the counterpoint and the slightly more difficult to read keys it should be ok.

Otherwise, there are many great alternatives both from Kinderszenen and the Chopin preludes in addition to the ones you mentioned.
