Having problems with Chopin's Minute Waltz.

 Hello, I'm a self-taught pianist and I've been learning Chopin's Minute Waltz (Op. 64 No. 1) for about a week now. I know the whole piece, but I'm still far from playing it without mistakes or pauses. The piece feels playable, but I just can't get the trills right. The one that bothers me the most is the first one - in my sheets, it appears firstly at bars 10 and 12 - and repeats a lot during the whole performance.

 With that said, do you guys have any advice or tips to help me improve in that specific section of the piece? Should I just play it slowly and hope to get better and faster at it?

Practice it slowly, and have a plan for exactly how you're gonna do the trill. I think I do a triplet Eb-F-Eb but I'm not sure, I'm not at my piano right now. You do have to work it out slowly until you can do it reflexively.

  So, I try to play an Eb-F-Eb triplet, but I just end up involuntarily playing Eb and F. I can play the trill in slow tempos, but when I start speeding up a bit, I just can't get all the notes to go off.

Yeah, the trills can be difficult. I suggest rotating your forearm to assist with the trills. If you incorporate that along with your slow practicing, you should be able to play the trills in tempo with ease.

  Thanks for the help, I never thought of rotating the forearm to facilitate movement. I'm definitely going to incorporate that!
