I think you're playing the song correctly (technically and expressively) as written on the paper - try experimenting with finger pedaling.

Thank you both! Yea I actually started off with pedalling, but as I picked up speed I stopped using the pedal, because it muddied the melody too much. I which I didn't have a digital piano so I could be more nuance with the pedal, but alas this is what I'm working with
