Repertoire size
on: August 20, 2023, 03:53:24 PM
Does anyone know how wide pianists', like Yuja Wang, Lang Lang, Martha Argerich, Jan Lisiecki, repertoire is? It would be sort of cool to know how much they have memorized

It varies between pianists but many of the big ones had multiple recital programmes worth of material memorized (i.e. several hours of music).

Is there a certain set of i.e. concerti, or sonatas that are a "must play" among concert pianists? Cuz like, there are certain concerti like Chopin 1 and two or Rach 3 and 2 that almost every "mainstream"pianist can play.

Apparently Konstantin Scherbakov’s repertoire includes over 50 concertos.
