I've been trying to compile a list of "musically interesting" pieces primarily consisting of double notes. With "musically interesting", I am excluding pieces which have only technical pedagogical intent. Czerny is excluded, while Chopin and Scriabin's studies are included because their intent seems more musical. With "primarily consisting of", I mean most, if not the entire piece needs to be based around double notes. Here's what I have so far:
Chopin - Etudes Op. 25 No. 6 and 8
Chopin-Godowsky - Study on Op. 25 No. 6 (double notes are now in the left hand)
Rachmaninoff - Prelude Op. 23 No. 9
Rachmaninoff - Etudes-Tableaux Op. 39 No. 8
Scriabin - Etudes Op. 8 Nos. 6 and 10
Saint Saëns - Etude Op. 111 No. 1
Liszt - Feux Follets
Let me know what else I am missing. I'm trying to also find pieces which have an emphasis on double notes in the left hand too, and would love any suggestions for these in particular. Thanks!
