I've been trying to compile a list of "musically interesting" pieces primarily consisting of double notes. With "musically interesting", I am excluding pieces which have only technical pedagogical intent. Czerny is excluded, while Chopin and Scriabin's studies are included because their intent seems more musical. With "primarily consisting of", I mean most, if not the entire piece needs to be based around double notes. Here's what I have so far:

Chopin - Etudes Op. 25 No. 6 and 8
Chopin-Godowsky - Study on Op. 25 No. 6 (double notes are now in the left hand)
Rachmaninoff - Prelude Op. 23 No. 9
Rachmaninoff - Etudes-Tableaux Op. 39 No. 8
Scriabin - Etudes Op. 8 Nos. 6 and 10
Saint Saëns - Etude Op. 111 No. 1
Liszt - Feux Follets

Let me know what else I am missing. I'm trying to also find pieces which have an emphasis on double notes in the left hand too, and would love any suggestions for these in particular. Thanks!

Edited for grammar and readability.

Debussy Étude 9 Pour les notes répétées is the one that immediately comes to mind

There’s this Prokofiev piece. It’s a nice study in 4ths.

I took a look at it, and it didn't seem to have many double notes, but Nos. 2, 3, and 4 from the set for thirds, fourths, and sixths definitely seem to be what I'm looking for!

I like this one a lot! It has the double notes, but it's "disguised" a lot more than other such studies. I think I'm going to try it out, it doesn't seem as hard as other double note studies.

Perhaps Chopin Nocturne Op. 27 No. 2? There are thirds and double notes throughout most of the piece, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. Anyway, give it a listen and tell me what you think!

Sorry I misread your post as repeated notes! I play the fourths etude, it's a lovely piece. The sixths etude is easier (I don't play it but I've sight read through it a few times) and the thirds etude isn't far off Chopin's op.25/6 in terms of difficulty.

There are the first couple variations from the Brahms Paganini, as well as the Book 2 variation 1. But one of my favorites is the finale of the Brahms first sonata which starts at the 22:30 mark:

Czerny is excluded

You are probably missing Czerny's "Toccatina" from his Sonata No. 5. Czerny also wrote music.

That's debatable.

That's debatable.

If you're saying it's debatable that Czerny also wrote music, I say, no it isn't! And here is my evidence.

I was being facetious and could not resist :) I know he could compose at a very competent level, but his music does not really grab my attention.

I know. Don't worry ;)
I actually agree with you when it comes to 99% of Czerny's output but there are a few diamonds in the rough that I think are on par with any of the great composers.

Back to the topic at hand, there is also this Brahms study after Chopin;

Here is nice collection:

It doesn't meet the criteria of non-exercises, but thanks for listing.  I had a post up a couple weeks ago about double-note studies for the LH, so this is right on target for that.

Yes, my intent was actually to post in that other thread. Sorry for the mess.
