Good Morning. Continuing my journey to learn all of the ABRSM grade 1  pieces. Here is A11 by James Hook - Gavotte in C Major. This took a long time to get to this speed. It usually takes me about a month learn one of these grade 1 pieces, but this took much longer. I finally just decided to try and record as fast as I could and I thought of a quote "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the  good". Most people only learn a few pieces from each grade before moving on so I wonder if it is better to learn to the best of my ability within the timeframe I've given myself and move on or stay on it until I deem it to be 100% absolutely perfect. Thoughts? Also if anyone has any advice or resources on speed and tension please share as those were the aspects I struggled with the most. The piece itself is a good exercise in musicality with hands in root position. Anyway, as always I hope you enjoy and please share any advice!  Thank you!

Bar 13 - try to make the C's at the end of the LH slur just a little shorter. Lift them off as you start to play the C in the RH.
Apart from that, you've done well to get independence in each hand (e.g. staccato in one hand, but legato in the other)

Copy that. I'll give it a shot and thank for the advice!
