Thirds Excercises
on: February 19, 2005, 04:06:39 PM
I'm having trouble doing these. My instructor says you're supposed to do these with the arm and wrist rather than the fingers. However I can't do them right! They have to be legato and I always fumble through them.

actually, only the external voices have to be legato (the upper voice for rh and the lower vice for lh). and, anyway, thirds legato is mostly a problem of fingering.
what exercises are these? and do you have good fingerings? if not, ask your teacher to write down the best ones for you.
best luck
